Rural Technical Training Institute
LokPanchayat in its effort to provide livelihood opportunities for youth, took up the initiative of providing technical skills for youth. A Technical Training Institute was started with support from TDH, Germany and Volkswagen Employees Foundation in the year 2012.
Approach :
Tribal and rural youth from vulnerable sections of society do not get an opportunity in acquiring technical and vocation training skills. The focus is on providing technical skills from this section of society to all such youth form Maharashtra.
Quality training that is relevant to the current market needs is a key aspect of this initiative. Imparting values is an important part of the training.
The aim is to provide subsidized quality training, a wide exposure to quality standards in the industry, knowledge inputs by experts from the industry. An ‘earn and learn’ scheme is also initiated to support economically weak students. Career guidance to set up enterprises is planned for the students.
